PHANTOM OF PARADISE Swiss-German artist Tobias Spichtig uses sculpture and painting to explore themes of spectral identity and the dystopian nature of contemporary culture. His exhibition at Kunsthalle Basel, “Everything No One Ever Wanted,” features a series of haunting portraits depicting characters from his world, Like the designer Rick Owens, musicians Eartheater and Blackhaine, and visual artist and filmmaker Michella Bredahl. Together, they form a society of the mysterious and the grotesque. ALL ARTWORK COPYRIGHT AND COURTESY OF TOBIAS SPICHTIG, COURTESY OF CONTEMPORARY FINE ARTS, BERLIN / BASEL
