VISUAL ESSAY by ROLAND TOPOR artist roland topor co-wrote and illustrated the cult animated sci-fi film fantastic planet (la planete sauvage), 1973. in this allegory about the future, humans are depicted as tiny creatures living in a phantasmagorical world where giant humanoids frighten and mistreat them. no longer the dominant species, they must endure a reversed existential condition.
