When it came to choosing an icon for our 30th anniversary, we immediately thought of Catherine Deneuve, wearing Saint Laurent. Despite her legendary status and her prolific career, having made two to three films a year since 1965, many of them masterpieces, as well as doing countless fashion shoots, she straightaway said yes.

There is no star attitude. On set, accompanied by her dog, she doesn’t waste a minute, says what she thinks, picks the clothes she wants to wear, poses five minutes maximum for each picture, and then it’s straight on to the next shot. The actor still likes to take risks, often working with young directors. An icon for all generations.
