Purple and Maurizio Cattelan go way back. We were one of the first to feature the provocative work of the Italian artist, who has always been interested in magazines. He has contributed to Purple in many ways: doing both fake and real interviews with artists, shooting fashion stories, and even modeling. He also created his own publications (Permanent Food and Toiletpaper). Beyond the parodic side of his work, Cattelan is an unstoppable cultural activist, using the art world to his advantage while making fun of its value system and of art itself.
