Hidden in the outskirts of Marseille — the 2013 European Capital of Culture — is “The Radiant City,” Le Corbusier’s architectural masterpiece, also called “Unité d’Habitation” (Housing Units). With the support of the Fondation Le Corbusier, the gymnasium and solarium on the building’s rooftop were bought by the young French designer Ora-Ïto, who transformed them into an art center called MAMO (Marseille Modulor), set to open in summer 2013. Center stage atop the entirely renovated rooftop, with views of the sea and city, the promising young actress Louise Grinberg adds life to genius, past and present. photographed by OLIVIER ZAHM
