Sadder still is the fact that fashion magazines are the only places where young women can play with their bodies, their clothes, and their beauty without anxiety. Terry Richardson grew up in LA in the late ’70s, when this hedonistic aesthetic was everywhere, with all those fantasy girls strolling on Sunset Boulevard, roller-skating on the boardwalk, and playing in the summer sun. So Terry’s is the perfect eye to recapture the irresistible and idyllic essence of West Coast freedom.
