Behind a magazine — like any creative project — there are Many dialogues between people exchanging ideas, questions, recipes, books, and references. One ongoing dialogue at Purple recurs every issue between New York–based painter Rita Ackermann and Olivier Zahm, the magazine’s co-founder. THIS is their most recent exchange, centering on the analog theme of this issue and the NEW relevance of a magazine today, after Rita insisted that this time it should be published.
