Thadée Klossowski De Rola

photography by BENOIT PEVERELLI art direction and style by ROBERT RABENSTEINER   The son of the painter Balthus and husband of Loulou de la Falaise, Thadée Klossowski de Rola was a central character in Yves Saint Laurent’s private entourage, to which he was like an icon of aristocratic detachment and a model of nostalgic elegance. Thadée is also a literary dandy who never got around to achieving his poetic ambition. He waited more than 40 years to put the finishing touches on his first book, “Vie Rêvée” (Life Dreamed). Neither an autobiography nor a memoir about high society, it’s a collection of intimate fragments — almost like a diary — and very much a reflection of the chic, bohemian, and evasive life he led from 1965 to 1977. Until now, he has always refused to model for photographers — this is his first time in a fashion magazine.
