The writer Jay McInerney had it right in 1993 when he wrote the long article in The New Yorker about her attitude and fashion — and this when she was still a teenager in New York. Now, almost two decades later, she’s still the best-dressed girl of her generation. Chloë is the perfectly typical American girl. She epitomizes cool chic — no plastic surgery or superfluous fashion for her. Another reason we’ve loved Chloë for so long is that she’s the best American actress today. This is no offense to Uma Thurman or Natalie Portman. She never compromises: she only acts in creative, artistic films, and only works for a big production — like HBO’s “Big Love” — if the story has substance.
