Thomas Bayrle exhibition at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise, New York
A detail of new work by Thomas Bayrle presented at Gavin Brown‘s Lower East Side location. Bayrle merges the iconic with the commercial. Taking imagery of The Inspiration of Saint Matthew and Crucifixion the artist uses distorted and repeated depictions of iPhones to compose his images. The results are hypnotic both in detail and from afar.
