Taking over the location of Shepard Fairey’s defaced mural, artist Barry McGee is the latest contributor to the Bowery and Houston wall space. Still a work in progress, the first layer of graffiti-style word imagery went up over the weekend. McGee previously exhibited with the now closed Deitch Projects and is known for presenting works which combine traditions of street art with Mexican mural techniques. Text and Photo Juliana Balestin
