Founded in 2016, “Drawing a Blank” is an independent exhibition series founded by Ben Broome that supports young artists, photographers and image makers through events in temporary locations worldwide. Drawing a Blank sets out to provide a platform from which these artists can exhibit their work alongside their peers and outside of the confines and pressures of the contemporary art world.
In a post lock down world, art is more often than not, viewed through a screen. The fifth edition of “Drawing a Blank” at Garage Lubeck in Paris was a reminder that not all physcality is lost, with work from dozens of artists on display: Kesewa Aboah, Simon Cahn, Ines Di Folco, Rhea Dillon Jalan And Jibril Durimel, Pablo Jomaron, Djiby Kebe, Frank Lebon, Rosie Marks, Jan Melka, Stef Mitchell, Bianca Saunders, Zora Sicher, Pol Taburet, Orfeo Tagiuri, and Joshua Woods. The night was animated with live performances from acts such as Clara 3000, Vegyn, Anaïs, Obongjayar, and Oko Ebombo.
