A work by Jenny Holzer featured in the new Spruth Magers Berlin exhibition I Am Not Free Because I Can Be Exploded curated by the Los Angeles artist Sterling Ruby. The title of the show references Holzer’s work by the same name which she made in collaboration with the graffiti artist Lady Pink in 1983. Both Holzer and Ruby are interested in the context of slogans and the power found in the ambiguity of meaning. I Am Not Free Because I Can Be Exploded featuring works by Jenny Holzer, Robert Morris, Rosemari Trockel, and Lady Pink and curated by Sterling Ruby runs until May 28th at Sprueth Magers, Oranienburger Str. 18, Berlin.
