Isabelle Albuquerque x Robert Therrien at Therrien’s studio in Downtown Los Angeles, mark the first exhibition in his unique, purpose-built space. This intimate environment was not only Therrien’s workspace but also a curated artwork reflecting his psyche and sensory memories. Albuquerque, influenced by her childhood connection to Therrien, merges organic and spiritual elements, creating a dialogue that transforms the familiar into the extraordinary and blurs personal and universal boundaries. Her work often incorporates personal materials like hair and nails, adding emotional depth and inviting viewers to engage with themes of identity, transformation, and connection to the past.
The exhibition is supported by Nicodim and Jeffrey Deitch.
