Irving Penn “Edge of Beauty” Exhibition at Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery Paris, on view until July 13th
Curated by Tom Pecheux, this exhibitions celebrates both Penn’s iconic and lesser-known beauty images. Known for his photographs for Vogue, Penn’s work combines editorial and fine art, revealing a latent of darkness juxtaposed with beauty. These photographs employing the same qualities established by Surrealism, with compositions characterized by sharp lines and soft flesh, often verge on the grotesque.
