“I want to challenge and celebrate gender and sexuality ideals – to show that women are just as active and powerful as men – and that there should be no hierarchy between the sexes. Ultimately, gender and sexuality are not fixed ideals, and diversity and difference should be celebrated, not segregated. Which is what I hope to do – by merging and blending gendered cliches in my work, I hope to demonstrate that gender, like sexuality, is fluid and non-binary” — Anna Sampson
