This is the first exhibition in an Italian Museum for L.A. based artist Elad Lassry (1977, Tel Aviv) following his show at Massimo De Carlo Gallery in 2010 in Milan and after taking part at the last Art Biennale in Venice. Starting from the mediums of video and photography, Lassry has introduced drawing and sculpture in his language and the show, that includes a site specific installation, incorporates them all. He refers growing up with a philosophical doubt on what photography is. And using frames in the same palette of the pictures, he tends to blur the distinction between bi-dimensional and three-dimensional space. He has been approaching the largest variety of subjects – people, animals, stills – but whatever he shoots he’s dealing with an ontological experience. On view through September 16th at Padiglione D’Arte Contemporanea (PAC) Via Palestro 14, Milan. Photo and Text Marta Galli
