In advance of his first Los Angeles exhibition with Blum & Poe in January 2011, American artist Banks Violette presents his first outdoor sculpture outside the Bass Museum, Miami. Violette‘s mannered Minimalist forms usually activates their gallery and exhibition spaces which makes this outdoor context a new formal challenge for the artist and adds a new depth to his narrative. Unitlted, 2011 is on view in Collins Park at The Bass Museum through December 4th 2011. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
