Achille Castiglioni (1918 – 2002) was a designer in the truest sense of the word. His extensive opus spans over 6 decades and includes lighting, furniture, interior design as well as architecture. Often inspired by anonymous innovations He combined simple ideas with appropriate materials to create ingenious objects of entirely unique aesthetic clearly drawn from function. His playful approach to life and work is oozing from every detail of his studio in the heart of Milan. Kept more or less unchanged by his family, the space is open to public but remains a somewhat hidden gem of Milan’s rich design history.
